Easter Weekend

Posted in Luke at 2:07 pm by selfwalker

I had plenty of eggs to take care of in my basket this weekend. First, I had to be handyman around the house. A spoon got stuck in the garbage disposal, tripping the motor. To get it going again all I had to do was press the reset button; I wish my other job was easy. Next I had to fix a leak from my clothes washer. April had mentioned that water was underneath. When I checked it out, I noticed how the hose connectors were extremely rusted. They were so rusted that after rubbing off some of the rust water started to spray every where! I quickly thought, “Oh great what geyser did I just start?” I first grabbed the trash can to catch the water that was flowing out and then I tried to turn off the water valve. But I turned it in and the water did not stop and I turned it out and the water did not stop! Amazing how water can me start to panic. Righty tighty, lefty loosey is the mantra I learned in shop class. I tried again and again and finally I realized that there was a few more turns to shut the water off. Three days have passed and I am still trying to get one of the rusted connectors off. The tools I have tried are boiling water, hair dryer, adjustable pliers, WD-40, screw driver, mallot, and channel locks. Remember that scene in Goonies where they bang on the water pipes? Well that is what I feel like. I have tried everything to get that darn hose off, hoping that I would not rupture any of the pipes in the house. I will let you know things pan out. Also, I wanted to go camping this weekend but the temps have dipped down in the twenties. Seems a bit too chilly for Charlie. So we are going a picnic this afternoon; time to fill up the picnic basket.
